Authentic Growth Blueprint

Jun 14, 2020

What does it mean to truly be yourself? What would it feel like to let the mask down and be you -- and to be surrounded by people who you trusted would be there for you no matter what?

Being authentic isn’t simply following your emotions in any given moment, but it’s using your deeper internal compass to guide you to your best decisions and to the people who will help you become better.

In this episode, Dr. Andy and Curtis discuss what it really means to be authentically you. In our society there is a lot of confusion on what this word means, and how to find it for ourselves.

Join us as we explore what it truly means to be authentic, and the freedom that comes along with it.

“It’s who I was when I wasn’t worried about impressing people, when I wasn’t filled with fear and I didn’t have imposter syndrome. It was when I felt most confident; when I could trust myself and I felt pulled to be better and to do better.”

What we discuss with Dr. Andy

  • Living with the mask off and being genuine with people around us 3:30
  • The power to access the best parts of ourselves through authenticity 8:25
  • Seeking out authentic relationships when it seems hard to know who to trust 9:45
  • The correlation between trust and authenticity 14:50
  • Authenticity as it exists in relationship and how his grandfather, Carl Karcher of Carl’s Jr, taught Dr. Andy about authenticity 21:30

Reflection Question

Do you have people in your life who you can be authentically you with? Are you someone that allows people to be authentic when they are around you? How can you begin to be more authentic with the people around you?
